Teresa Lasher

Today, I’d like to introduce you to an amazing woman, Teresa Lasher, who agreed to guest blog at DifferentDream.com.

Meet Teresa Lasher

She’s a sailor, motorcycle rider, freelance writer, and speaker who lives in Michigan with her husband. We met at a writing conference last summer and discovered we have much more than writing in common. We are both mothers of prodigal sons who struggled with difficult issues as children and have recently learned to manage them.

Parenting an ADHD Child

If you’re the parent of an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) child, you’ll find Teresa’s honesty refreshing. She has this to say about parenting her son. “People with good intentions said, ‘God doesn’t give us more than we can handle,’ or ‘God only gives special kids to special parents.’ I didn’t feel specially blessed, but felt I was being punished.”

More About Teresa

Teresa will share the story of how her attitude changed in the next post. In the meantime, here’s a little more information about this amazing woman. She writes from her own personal experiences, including her motorcycle and sailboat adventures. She communicates to women’s groups regarding the trauma and blessings of brain surgery, and also about journaling therapy to groups such as MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) and Salvation Army corps officers.

Her published works appear in Internet Cafe Devotions.com, Rider, Sailing, Women’s Lifestyle, Thunder Roads of Michigan, and War Cry magazines. Teresa is currently working on a devotional book compilation where she shares areas of proper self-care and lessons learned after surviving brain surgery.
