Today's post, #4 in the 2012 countdown of top special needs posts relates Stephanie Husted's perfect ending for her medically fragile son Braeden.

Our 2012 countdown of top special needs posts is more than halfway complete. Today’s post, #4 on the list, comes from guest blogger, Stephanie Ballard. My, oh my, DifferentDream readers love to hear from parents of kids from special needs!

In just a minute, we’ll take a closer look at Steph’s post. But first, here are a few of the top special needs posts so far:

Post #4: A Medically Fragile Child’s Perfect Ending

Steph’s post is once again a poem, this time about how she wishes she could write a perfect ending for her son Braeden, who is medically fragile. In the introduction to the poem, she says this: No one could have prepared me for life with a medically fragile child. It is a day by day learning lesson full of challenges and triumphs, but my son is my greatest teacher.

No wonder this post was popular with readers! Our children with special needs are our greatest teachers. At the same time, we long to write a perfect ending for our kids, free of pain and hardship. You can read Steph’s poem, How I’d Like to Write Your Story, at A Medically Fragile Child’s Perfect Ending. Be forewarned, Steph’s poem comes with a tissue warning.

What Do You Think?

What ending would you write for your child’s story if you could? What are your hopes and dreams for your child?
